40+ years of research !! Not by a single individual, but many, combined over the years. In the ealy days, the hand-written and sometimes, typed letters (no email) and real source documents, and lots and lots of family group sheets, were all stored in filing cabinets, pasteboard boxes, and later on diskettes, and later still, on cds...not to mention the hours and hours of reading microfilm, ... and now ... Finally ......Organized, Stored and Presented HERE, all in one place,.. For YOU to Use and Enjoy |
Just a short note about our "CCC" Logo... This all began to be more like an official "group" when Dana Pierson joined my early online efforts in my lifelong pursuit of the Clark/Clarkson/Clarkston/Claxton/etc famiy research. I was attempting to upload my earlier published book on the Clarkstons. That was followed almost immediately by the addition of Elton Bingham. He became a daily contributor and he worked my fingers to the bone with 10-20 additions and correctiosn a day!! But we were all really enjoying the way things were shaping up, and we all had fun. As the project began to gather a few more serious contributors, it became cumberson to type Clark/Clarkson/Clarkston/etc, and we began referring to our efforts as ccc. and it stuck. But the research is not limited to Clark etc. It has branched out to so many collateral lines and several ancestral lines of several people, so there is a lot of data here. My copy of the database stands at 130 thousand individuals at the time of this writing ,,, 08/06/2009. |
