Elton and I worked many
hours, weeks, and months to
extract and transcribe Harlan
County Marriage Book 1.

We had hoped to make yet
another contribution to our
genealogical friends.

It wasn't until we were
finished that Elton realized that
Book 1 is a complete subset of
Book A. The difference being
that Book A contains about
1000 marriages that are not
included in Book 1, but every
marriage in Book 1 is in Book
A..

It took a lot of work, but Elton
& his son found a way to use
those reference numbers to
incorporate book A into book 1.

What this gives us is one triore
check to get it right, especially
since some of the pages were
so extremely faint.

So, the silver lining is; in spite
of the frustration, we now have
a much more complete and
accurate project !!!

What you need to know
about this report

What you will find is the left
columns (in the yellow zone)
represent Marriage Bk A.

If there is a cross reference to
Book 1, you will see a page &
line number in the Book 1
columns. Then, to the rightt of
that, (in the green zone) any
differences between the two.

Those differences will be
shown in the appropriate
column. If nothing is shown in
that column, then it would
indicate a perfect match
between that column in Book A
and 1.
